About

Omi –Apata Local Council Development Area came into existence in 2016 with the creation of 35 LCDAS in Oyo State by the immediate past Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi in order to accelerate even development at the grassroot.

The LCDA was carved out of Ido Local Government and comprises over 300 towns and villages with its headquarters located at Omi-Adio town.

The LCDA shares boundary with Ogun State to the West, Ibadan South West to the East, Ido LG to the North and Ibarapa Central to the South.

The LCDA was not in existence as at the last census but a rough estimate of total population extracted from the 2006 population census put it at about 246,000 stemming from the wards as newly delineated constitute the LCDA.

Omi-Apata LCDA is basically an agrarian area with a larger part of its population engage in planting of food and cash crops as means of livelihood.It is also enriched with numerous untapped natural resources which are located all over various communities that constitute the LCDA.

It comprises of 4 wards. Major areas under each are therefore stated below:

Ward 6

• Erinwusi, Odetola, Aba Oke, Olohan, Araromi Idowu Seeni, Latunji, Kuseela, Okose, Saliu, Abokede Langbin, Koguo

Ward 9

Eleso, Omi-Adio, Bakatari, alakaso, Omi – Onigbagbo, Bako, lade owo, Jiboye Bode-Igbo, Erikojaobe, Aba Aremu, Oke oloro, Abidogun, Aba Araba, Apooyin

 Ward 10

• Apata, Pete, Bembo, Oloko, Elere, Arise, Elebu, Olosun, Aba Paanu, Idi-Ahun, Siba, Ogundele Alaho

Ward 7

• NNPC, Adebisi Layout, Gbekuba Ile Tuntun, Ita faaji, Alada Fenwa, Agoro, Adewole, Alada Agadamu Opopin, Aganm Akankan, Onidoko, Oloya.
